The heatwave radiator has ideas from the baroque period because represents a motion and easy to interpreted details like the pattern. The radiator may seem from the rococo period because of the excess detail and surface but “ a radiator needs a large surface to give heat to the air.” therefore the surface has a specific function which the rococo wouldn't have. This design is showing how people are now aware of other peoples well being by having an effective heating system, not just having good aesthetics radiator.
This was design by Joris Laarman in 1979 who was trying to show minimalist industrial forms are not always more functional than the decoration. Therefore he thinks that the pendulum of design should start moving in the other direction.
